We've arrived in Seattle!!

We left this morning from Dulles airport in Washington D.C. and had an early morning started at 4am. We flew into Salt Lake City and boarded our next flight that flew to Seattle within the hour. We went through two time zones and are a bit thrown off by that currently. It will probably help us to adjust better to the big jump tomorrow to Okinawa's time. :) Tomorrow will be both Thursday and Friday for us!!

Please pardon any mistakes in my spelling or wording. We are a bit tired here and it is quite an adjustment to us. This morning at the airport we were weighing our luggage and when we got to our last bag the man at the desk said that the bag weighed over 100 pounds!! We were astonished and didn't remember packing it THAT heavily! We must have looked shocked because he started laughing and told us that he had his leg on the scale and that the weight was really fine. :) It was quite funny to start the day off with that and helped us relax some as we started our journey!

When we arrived at our hotel today we were told that we were set up to share a room with another guy. We were quite surprised by that and didn't understand what was happening!! We found out that there was a mistake and that there was another guy staying here at the same time with the same last name (Schmid). Funny times! We were quite relieved to find out that we were not sharing a room with another guy. :P

Well, this is it for now. We are trying to relax and get some rest before going to bed tonight. We have another early morning tomorrow and we are off to Japan! Thanks for your prayers!!

Last week in Virginia

It is hard to believe, but we are in our last full week in Virginia already! Ben graduated from LOC - Logistics Officer Course at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina on Wednesday morning. That was a nice short ceremony and we hit the road as quick as we could! We got home and hit our organizing and packing for the plane mode Thursday morning.

It is amazing how much stuff one can gather in just a year of living in one place. We have gotten rid of a bunch of papers and organized quite a bit of our stuff. Ben already is half packed for the plane ride and I still have a bit more to do...okay all of it left to do! :)

Training days are done!! Well, for now. :)

My husband won major bonus points this morning with stopping for a few groceries that we needed this morning and picking up a few other things that we 'needed'. Like Starburst Jellybeans, Cadbury Eggs and Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs. I told him that he needed to do more of the grocery shopping from now on. :) Today is more relaxing for us and we will hit the grindstone again on Monday. Today we had lunch on the grill (chicken), used the playground facilities a bit since they were right by the grill (I haven't been on a swing in forever!! Wish I had a camera with me :D), and are going out with some friends for dinner tonight. It has been a good day!!

This is the month!

March has finally arrived! Back in the fall when we heard about our move to Okinawa it seemed like a long time until we were going to move. Now our moving month is here!!

Next week Ben is going on a FEX (field exercise) with his class from Monday-Friday. That will be his only FEX for Logistics School and they do get the perks of having tents and cots. During TBS (the basic school) the only thing they had was something similar to a sleeping bag and the stars above. :)

We will both be involved in a wedding on March 10th for mutual friends of ours. Matt and Stephanie will be going through TBS in a couple of years or so and are glad that we can be a part of their special day. Ben will be a groomsman and I will be the matron of honor. Matt was a groomsman in our wedding back in 2010 and Stephanie is a friend that I actually met after moving to Virginia. They have a fun story of how they met! I suppose you could say that I had the matchmaking bug. :)

Ben is graduating on March 14th and so he has about a week and a half left! We are very excited to have that goal checked off our list and to be able to be together to prep the last few things for our move.
