Friday night we arrived in Okinawa at 8:30pm local time. It was a long day on the plane and we had three stops all together. Here is a small outline of our day:
8:30am plane leaves Seattle, Washington
10:30am plane arrives in Yakota, Japan
1:30pm plane leaves Yakota
3:00pm plane arrives in Iwakuni, Japan
5:30pm plane leaves Iwakuni, Japan
8:30pm plane arrives in Okinawa, Japan

Basically that timeline is just to show that it was a LONG day! The food was good and we rested okay. The first flight was difficult to sleep on, but we basically passed out on the second and third flights. Needless to say we slept well that night! Apparently most people wake up really early due to the change in the time zone, but we slept until 6:30 the next morning. That was a good amount of sleep in comparison to some folks that we heard about.
Today we had a great day! We passed our drivers license test and will receive it on Wednesday afternoon. We got some paperwork straightened out, ate some new food (Taco Rice), relaxed with friends, and saw some new creatures for us. I saw a cockroach in a public restroom this morning and then a gecko on the wall in our lodging. We've heard the geckos are really good to have around since they eat the other bugs. I can handle them for that reason alone!! :)
